Dubai, UAE, September 27, 2017 - With one month until official pre-season testing begins, teams have began preparations for the 2017/18 F4UAE Championship powered by Abarth by unveiling new sponsorship agreements and driver lineups ahead of the new six-round season which commences with testing in late October.

At the recent Emirates Motorsport Expo, both Energy Dubai and Dragon F4 released more information about their entries in F4UAE in front of a record number of exhibitors and motorsport fans, plus dignitaries including Mohammed Ben Sulayem, President of ATCUAE and Emirates Motor Sports Foundation, Yas Marina Circuit CEO Al Tariq Al Ameri and new General Manager of Dubai Autodrome, Faisal Al Sahlawi.

Energy Dubai confirmed a new title sponsor in SILBERPFEIL ENERGY DRINK and a striking new silver livery which will adorn both of the team's F4 Tatuus racecars for 2017/18. A company already known to motorsport, particularly in DTM, the SILBERPFEIL partnership is in place for three years and last season's UAE Junior Rotax Karting Champion Lucas Peterson has already been confirmed to drive one of the team's entries this season.

Meanwhile, Dragon F4 confirmed that rising German talent Lucas Alecco Roy will drive the #8 Dragon F4 Tatuus formula car for the whole six rounds, following a debut season with leading British team Carlin in the British F4 Championship. Dragon F4 will run two cars for this season's F4UAE Championship with a potential to add a third car in progress.

In other pre-season news, Berlin-based Mücke Motorsport also announced its intentions of competing in the 2017/18 F4UAE Championship, which will be the outfit's third association in F4 series globally after their involvement already in the German and Italian Formula 4 championships.

During the inaugural season of F4UAE in 2016/17, Dragon F4 fielded one car for Australian ace Oscar Piastri who now sits second outright in the British F4 championship with one round to go.

Eight of last season’s F4UAE drivers have made a name for themselves in European F4 championship with highlights including F4AUE championship winner Jonathan Aberdein finishing 9th outright in the ADAC Formel 4 Championship, Fabio Scherer finishing 5th in ADAC Formel 4, and F4UAE’s reigning Rookie of the Year, Logan Sargeant, who sits third in British F4 behind Piastri.

The 2017/18 F4UAE Championship begins at Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi for the official pre-season test on October 26-27, before Round 1 sees F4UAE support the Gulf 12Hrs on December 13-16.
