DRAGON F4 EXPANDS OPERATIONS AND WELCOMES BELGIUM DRIVER AMAURY CORDEEL TO F4UAE

Fifteen-year-old Belgium racer Amaury Cordeel is the latest driver to join Dragon Motopark F4 as the Dubai-based winning team expands to three cars for the remainder of the F4UAE Championship powered by Abarth.

Having raced in the full 2017 French F4 Championship, Cordeel finished inside the top-10 at Monza last year, while he previously has had F4 testing experience in Spain and Formula Renault Eurocup testing runs in 2016. Racing the #888 Dragon Tatuus racecar, the teenager - who is the younger brother of Arden Motorsport's Formula Renault racer Ghislain Cordeel - will make his Middle East debut this weekend at Round 2 of F4UAE which is being run on the north circuit configuration at Yas Marina Circuit.

"I'm very much excited to be in Abu Dhabi and join F4UAE for the rest of the season," said Cordeel. "I haven't had too much experience in these cars but that is why I'm here, to learn as much as I can for when I start the Spanish F4 Championship in a few months time. I just want to learn more about the car, get more racing miles and try to improve my lap times so that I'm more experienced before I go back to Europe. Everyone at Dragon has made me feel very welcome and they're a professional team with lots of experience now in F4 so I'm looking forward to learning a lot with them."

Dragon Motopark F4 team principal, Brad Fincham: "It's great for Dragon Motopark F4 to expand to three cars now and we're happy to bring someone like Amaury into the team to help him develop his racecraft before he goes on to Europe. F4UAE is the perfect stepping stone for him to do that and already in private testing he's responsive and has a good understanding of where he needs to fine-tune his skills. So we're very much looking forward to working with him over the next five rounds."

For the remainder of the 2018 season, Dragon Motopark F4 is also fielding Belgium racer Charles Weerts (#8) who won his first F4 race with the team in December, and German racer Lucas Alecco Roy (#88).

Round 2 of the F4UAE Championship begins tomorrow January 19 with practice, qualifying and race one, followed by races two, three and our on Saturday January 20.
