UAE-based open-wheeler team SILBERPFEIL Energy Dubai is set to become the largest team in the F4UAE Championship after announcing it will field an impressive line-up of new karting stars at the Dubai Autodrome this weekend (January 26-27).

Currently leading the F4UAE Teams Championship - winning five out of eight races so far against vastly experienced European F4 teams in the process - the team has signed three new drivers to join regular steerer Lucas Petersson for this weekend.

Sami Taoufik from Morocco, winner of the 2017 Rookie of the Year Award in CIK-FIA OK, has been tipped by many in the global karting ranks to be one of the best rising stars today. The 15-year-old is also winner of the 2016 OKJ WSK Super Master Series and the 2017 CIK–FIA European Championship, which are the two premier karting championships in the world, and will contest the next two rounds.

Caio Collet from Brazil is twice winner of the Golden Helmet which is an award given by Racing Magazine for best Brazilian Kart Racer. With his home country being renowned for producing motorsport stars, Caio stands apart from many having achieved many top honours over the years including third place in the KFJ (Prior to OKJ) Worlds and twice coming sixth place in the KFJ/OKJ European Championship. He will contest two rounds at this stage in preparation for the upcoming French F4 Championship.

While Marzio Morretti from Italy is another young star ready to make his next step up into formula cars this weekend. Marzio is a member of the Scuderia Tazio Nuvolari Italia, was the 2016 OKJ Italian Champion, and in 2017 he participated in some international races in the OK category with positive results. He was also selected by Scuola Federale ACI SPORT to participate in the first Ferrari Driver Academy Camp in Fiorano and in the fourteenth Supercorso Federale ACI SPORT in Vallelunga. Marzio is using his time in F4UAE in preparation for the 2018 Italian F4 Championship.

"To come from just one F4 car at the beginning of last year to now entering five is a massive achievement for everyone at SILBERPFEIL Energy Dubai," said team owner Kevin Day. "We have a long history of working with winning karting drivers and helping them develop their racecraft right from the start, so to now also be recognised as a team where young karting drivers can make that successful jump up into circuit racing is something to be proud of from an organisation point of view as well.

"We're looking forward to helping Sami, Caio and Marzio come to terms with adjusting into the formula cars, and know that they will also benefit from working alongside Lucas and all that he has learnt since he started in F4 last season."

Round 3 of the F4UAE Championship powered by Abarth heads to the Dubai Autodrome this weekend, starting with official testing on Thursday January 25, qualifying and Race 1 on Friday January 26 and Races 2-4 on Saturday January 27.
