Abu Dhabi Racing by PREMA to line-up four cars for F4 UAE Abu Dhabi exhibition event
Abu Dhabi Racing by PREMA announces that the team will line up for the 2021 F4UAE season opener at Yas Marina Circuit with four Tatuus T-421 machines.
The non-championship event, supporting the Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, will be a première for the new era of Formula 4 and its brand new machinery, featuring improved performance and safety, the latter embodied by the use of the halo system. The Yas Marina venue will also be used for the first time in its revamped configuration which is expected to bring more passing opportunities.
The Abu Dhabi Racing by PREMA stable will be headlined by home hero Hamda Al Qubaisi. The Emirati female racer is returning to the championship after taking multiple wins in the last two seasons. She will be joined by three of the drivers that partnered her in the F4 Italian Championship. Coming from his first full season, 15-year-old Dane Conrad Laursen will make his first start in the F4 UAE Championship after fighting for the rookie trophy throughout this year in Italy.
Andrea Kimi Antonelli will also make an anticipated return to the cockpit to start early preparation for 2022. The Italian sensation, who cruised to multiple podiums during his three-race spell at the end of 2021, will be joined by Charlie Wurz, who also made his car racing debut this year.
The team will face an exciting challenge. While bringing four new-generation racecars to the track for the first time, PREMA Racing’s Robert Shwartzman and Oscar Piastri will be fighting for the FIA Formula 2 title over the same weekend.
The line-up for the F4 UAE season will be announced at a later date.
