Abu Dhabi Racing by PREMA to line-up four cars for F4 UAE Abu Dhabi exhibition event

Abu Dhabi Racing by PREMA announces that the team will line up for the 2021 F4UAE season opener at Yas Marina Circuit with four Tatuus T-421 machines.

The non-championship event, supporting the Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, will be a première for the new era of Formula 4 and its brand new machinery, featuring improved performance and safety, the latter embodied by the use of the halo system. The Yas Marina venue will also be used for the first time in its revamped configuration which is expected to bring more passing opportunities.

The Abu Dhabi Racing by PREMA stable will be headlined by home hero Hamda Al Qubaisi. The Emirati female racer is returning to the championship after taking multiple wins in the last two seasons. She will be joined by three of the drivers that partnered her in the F4 Italian Championship. Coming from his first full season, 15-year-old Dane Conrad Laursen will make his first start in the F4 UAE Championship after fighting for the rookie trophy throughout this year in Italy.

Andrea Kimi Antonelli will also make an anticipated return to the cockpit to start early preparation for 2022. The Italian sensation, who cruised to multiple podiums during his three-race spell at the end of 2021, will be joined by Charlie Wurz, who also made his car racing debut this year.

The team will face an exciting challenge. While bringing four new-generation racecars to the track for the first time, PREMA Racing’s Robert Shwartzman and Oscar Piastri will be fighting for the FIA Formula 2 title over the same weekend.

The line-up for the F4 UAE season will be announced at a later date.

Hamda Al Qubaisi
"I’m excited to be racing on home soil this weekend and in front of my home crowd as a support race of Formula 1. It’s all about adapting to the new F4 car and new configuration at Yas Marina Circuit whilst making the most out of the race weekend."

Andrea Kimi Antonelli
"I’m really happy to make my debut with the new Formula 4 car running together with Formula 1 in Abu Dhabi. It is going to be cool and interesting even though the pressure will be high for sure. There will be a lot of people looking at us. It’s going to be tough but extremely fun as well. I cannot wait to race and see what we can do."

Conrad Laursen
"I'm very happy to announce that I'll be driving in this special event. I'm really excited to race as a support for F1 for the first time in my career. I'm looking forward to feeling that atmosphere. I'm also excited about trying the new F4 car, it will be the first time for me to drive it. It's going to be a great experience, and I want to thank Prema for the opportunity."

Charlie Wurz
"I am very excited to be racing in the Formula 4 UAE Championship Trophy alongside the F1 season finale on the new Abu Dhabi Circuit. It’s a great opportunity to experience the new F4 chassis for the 2022 season and see how it handles, so I am very much looking forward to it. I can’t wait to get on track with Prema."
