Ben Sulayem and ADR Join Forces to Field Two UAE Formula4 Cars

Today marks the agreement between Mohammed Ben Sulayem and Abu Dhabi Racing for the FIA Formula 4 UAE Championship. Together they embark on the next important Motorsport chapter with a joint collaboration to field two F4 cars to provide the stepping stone from Karting to Single seaters.

This initiative, announced today by Mohammed ben Sulayem, ATCUAE President and President of EMSF and Mr. Khaled Al Qubaisi, Abu Dhabi Racing's Managing Director, Founder of Daman Speed Academy, will provide a stable platform for young drivers to progress their Motorsport careers.

F4 is recognized worldwide and has strict price caps in place by the FIA and shares common Sporting and Technical regulations. F4 UAE will be the only National Championship that qualifies for FIA Super Licence points that is vital for drivers wishing to move up the ladder of Motorsport and ultimately Formula 1.

Utilizing the latest Tatuus Chassis with the Abarth Turbo engine the new Championship will commence in Oct 2016. Formula 4 UAE Championship, certified by the FIA (World Governing Body) is the first of kind in the MENA region and has already attracted a lot of attention since its recent launch.

The championship is aimed at young drivers from 15 years old in the FIA MENA region. Based in the UAE, the Championship will feature 18 races held over 6 events at Yas Marina and Dubai Autodrome Circuits, starting in October 2016.

The joining of forces between Mohammed ben Sulayem and Abu Dhabi Racing reflects the commitment for the future, and showcase’s the UAE as a leader for Motorsport growth in addition to supporting its successful grassroot programs.

Mr. Khaled Al Quabaisi said: ““One of our main goals at ADR is to develop the Emirati Motorsport champions of the future, and we have started with our grass roots initiative, the DSA, with the collaboration and support of the National Health Insurance Company“Daman” more than 3 years ago. We are now ready to look at the next natural step, from Karting into Single Seater Formula cars, and ultimately getting an Emirati into the top level of Motorsports. The F4 Championship is a natural next step and we are fortunate to have it in the UAE, I would like to thank Ben Sulayem and the ATC for bringing this initiative to the UAE.”

The Formula 4 UAE is open for all MENA FIA licensed drivers, amateur drivers who never participated in a Rookie championship, and licensed drivers from outside MENA region supported by Local and European teams.

The ATCUAE headed by Ben Sulayem, is the country’s representative of the FIA, automobile sport's world governing body, and its motorcycling and karting equivalents, the FIM and CIK respectively.Its primary responsibilities are to promote the safe and sustainable growth of motorsport in the UAE, and to ensure all events are run fairly and to regulation with safety being one of the main priorities.
